This Privacy Policy is based on Article 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter “the GDPR”) and describes the rights and obligations of Stolz regarding individuals whose personal data is processed (hereinafter “Data Subjects”), primarily in connection with the online sale and marketing of goods and services.

This Privacy Policy governs the processing of your personal data by the data controller, Stolz, located at Leuvensesteenweg 80, 3070 Kortenberg, registered with the CBE under number 0402.179.519 (hereinafter “Stolz”).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. It contains essential information about how we process your personal data and which cookies we use. By sharing your personal data on our website www.stolz.be, by contacting us via email/phone, or by submitting a question/complaint, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and expressly accept its contents.

What data do we process about you?

As part of its general operations, Stolz processes the following personal data about you:

  • Furniture store customer data. If you place an order, we may collect the following customer information about you: name, first name, gender, address, email address, phone number, details about your purchase, and any other information you provide to us;
  • Prospects. For potential customers, we may process the following data: name, first name, gender, address, email address, phone number, job title for professionals, date of first visit, and a history of the relationship;
  • Newsletter. when subscribing to our newsletter, we process your (professional) email address;
  • Contact. if you call, email, contact us via a trade fair, or contact us via the forms on the website, we process your first and last name, address, (professional) email address and/or phone number, company name, as well as the information you provide yourself;

Stolz can collect your personal data in various ways:

  • through your registration and use of the website; and
  • our website uses cookies and similar technologies to collect certain personal data. Please refer to our Cookie Policy.

What do we use your personal data for?

General purposes:

We use your personal data exclusively for:

- Furniture store customer data. Inclusion in our customer database to send you quotes and for the delivery and invoicing of products or services ordered by you, based on the performance of an agreement with you, a legal obligation to which we are subject, or because we have a legitimate interest in doing so;

- Newsletter. Direct marketing and newsletters by Stolz itself, based on our legitimate interest regarding existing customers or your explicit, prior consent if you are not yet a Stolz customer. You can indicate at any time that you no longer wish to receive our newsletters via the opt-out option in our newsletters. In that case, your email address will be automatically added to a separate opt-out list based on a legal obligation to which we are subject;

  • Contact. Answering the question you have asked, based on the performance of a service you have requested;
  • Cookies. Maintaining and improving our website and including personal data in anonymous statistics, from which the identity of specific individuals or companies cannot be traced, based on your explicit, prior consent upon your first visit to our website. We also use strictly necessary cookies based on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website.

Who receives your personal data?

We share your data with third parties in the context of executing our services and projects. Your data may be passed on to and processed by suppliers, consultants, software and cloud providers, financial partners, and other third parties involved in your order. The current list can be obtained upon simple request via email. For every transfer to third parties, we ensure appropriate security measures for your personal data, including by entering into data processing agreements where necessary.

We never pass your data on to third parties for commercial reasons. However, if necessary due to internal reorganization or transfer of activities, we may pass your data on to new entities within the Stolz group or to third parties who may guarantee the continuity of our services. In such cases, Stolz will always inform you in advance as much as possible, but you understand that this is not technically or commercially feasible under all circumstances.

In rare cases, we may be required to disclose personal data based on a court order or to comply with other mandatory laws or regulations. We will try to inform you in advance to the best of our ability, unless legal reasons prevent us from doing so.

We always try to make maximum use of European suppliers, but if we have to rely on non-European third parties, we ensure through our partners that your data outside Europe is just as secure as it is here in Europe.

How long do we keep your personal data?

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes of the processing.

For legal reasons, we must retain your billing data for 7 years from the calendar year following the invoice date.

We store your customer data for as long as necessary for the follow-up of our project and for a maximum of 25 years after our last contact. The reason for this longer retention period is that our products have a very long lifespan. This allows us to assist you at any time with reorders and repairs.

We store your data related to our newsletter until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data and how we use it at any time, free of charge. You have the right to ask us to correct, supplement, or delete your personal data. In certain cases listed in the GDPR, you may also request to restrict the processing of your personal data. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data if you have serious and legitimate reasons that outweigh our need to process your data. You also always have the right to object to the use of personal data for direct marketing purposes, without having to provide a reason. You have the right to request your personal data in a digital and readable format and/or to have it transferred to another service provider of your choice. Insofar as our processing is based on your prior consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent.

How do we secure your personal data?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures to ensure the safety of your personal data.

Under no circumstances can Stolz be held liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from incorrect or unlawful use of personal data by a third party.
