Nanimarquina

Nanimarquina was founded in 1987 by Nani Marquina in Barcelona, at a time when no contemporary rug existed on the market in Spain. The daughter of pioneering industrial designer Rafael Marquina decided to fill that gap herself.

Nanimarquina works with craftspeople in India, Nepal and Pakistan who combine centuries-old weaving techniques with contemporary designs by designers such as Elisa Padrón, the Bouroullec brothers and Jaime Hayon. The iconic Tres collection, woven in three materials at once, and the Bicicleta collection, made from recycled bicycle tyres, show the breadth of the brand. Today Nani's daughter Maria Piera leads the company as CEO.
