De Sede

De Sede began as a tannery in the Swiss town of Klingnau, before turning to making seating. That background in leather never disappeared: the brand is still known for the quality and thickness of the material it uses.

The best-known design is the DS-600, a modular leather seat from 1972 made up of separate, linked elements, listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest sofa ever built. Today De Sede works with designers such as Stephan Hürlemann and Gordon Guillaumier on new seating and armchairs, with the same attention to leather that has characterised the brand since its founding.
